Our Story
I founded POINT TO PINK, a Minority Women’s Mental Health Awareness PUSH, with the vision of creating a supportive and empowering community for minority women to feel safe, to say whatever we need to say.
As a woman with a variety of roles & responsibilities myself, it’s been a journey disrobing all the layers of protection, unhealthy strength and masking that, had been a cover, hiding my most authentic self.
I POINT TO PINK, because I truly believe we are the Conversation and the Cure. At POINT TO PINK, we understand the unique experiences and obstacles that minority women may encounter, and we are committed to addressing these challenges with compassion and understanding.
To gather is to heal!
Mission
Our mission is to create safe spaces to empower minority women on their wellness journey. Through our platform, we aim to reduce stigma, foster healing, and promote resilience within the minority women’s community.
Challenges Faced by Minority Women
Statistics reveal that minority women often face disproportionate rates of mental health challenges compared to their counterparts. For instance, minority women are more likely to experience symptoms of depression and anxiety, yet are less likely to receive adequate mental health care. Additionally, cultural stigma and barriers to accessing mental health services can further exacerbate these disparities.
